Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
Good: Great for kids who have the $$$ to come here and get a great education. You'll be surrounded by great faculty and lots of smart (and stylish) students. It's a paradise for artistically inclined (and unfortunately mostly upper-middle class & white) kids. Although the art history/visual arts department isn't as strong anymore (the school now only requires students to take only 40 credits of art classes of the 120 credits needed to graduate). Also close to NYC and access to a cool movie theater, a shopping mall, some pricey restaurants in Bronxville and Yonkers. If you take advantage of the education here and make great use of the resources available (i.e. internships, jobs, work-study), you can do amazing things when you graduate from here. But this is a place for only self-motivated artistic types who are great at independent work and don't have a penchant to slack off and not have any plans to go to grad school. After all, you graduate with a liberal arts degree for a school that is 67k a year (sticker price), so motivate yourself to work really fucking hard.

Cons: Financial aid is total shit. You will pay way more here compared to similar good liberal arts schools. If you want a similar school with half the cost, go elsewhere like Vassar, Wesleyan, or Oberlin. If you don't have the grades to get into better schools, try Bard or SUNY Purchase (if you're a NY resident). Shitty endowment + arts/writing students = terrible aid and hard time to find a high-paying job after graduation. You can be successful after going here, but this school is truly the epitome of

The school is financially in a bad place, therefore it will be hard to afford this school. Lots of people have left this school because of this reason alone. If you come from a middle-class/lower-middle class family, you will need to take out a lot in loans so please be very, very careful when choosing this college if you know you're gonna make something out of it when you graduate. This is not a school for the unmotivated and the lazy. Social life here can be very miserable and there will be times where you will feel utterly lonely and depressed. Lots of depressed types go to this school, so you will feel that everyone else feels this way, yet that doesn't make the situation any better. Also not a great place to go if you worry about paying off your student loan debt fast or want a moderately high paying job once you graduate. Really tour this college!

Overall, it is your typical unconventional liberal arts college, but it would be nice if this school didn't have such a depressing student culture and equally shitty financial aid. Then again, it should come as no surprise that a school with this kind of reputation, curriculum, student body, and cost, is such an inaccessible and elitist place.
