All I can say is that if you are bright and are looking for a career in industry or to make money by getting a job, or that is your first priority, surely come here. A bright student here can do that with a little effort on his/her side.

If you wanna come here and become good (may be even an expert) in applied subjects such as economics or computer science, surely come here again. It is possible to do so.

However, if you are looking to be an intellectual, a leading expert, in the field of mathematics or theoretical physics, turn around and run. Run fast and run as far as you can. If you want to end up as a leading research expert in the field and create knowledge, I am sorry, turn around and run again. It is already very difficult to achieve such a goal at any place (even at Cambridge or Caltech or you name it), but Berea college is a special shit-hole for these kind of goals.

questionWhy should I run? Can you elaborate on that?
responseBased on the research I've done so far, I get the impression that the school doesn't offer many research-based or internship opportunities. Each student is permitted to ONE study abroad experience during their 4 year stay if the school can afford it…though you're just one of many competing for said funds.

I think I understand what *** is getting at: it's a small school in a small town with limited opportunities. If you want somewhere to dream and DO big things, Berea is not it.

responseWhat kind of idiotic review is this. Go home kid.
