Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
The faculty is for the most part, friendly. There are a few professors who have an aura of self-importance, but most are great when you need assistance. This school seems to cater mostly to art and nursing students. Although the engineering department has some facilities, it is seriously lacking in engineering labs and equipment. Some of the courses I took require a pricey, online subscription which does not work unless you are on a campus computer, hindering the ease of doing homework at home. Also, half the time my email would not work and my personal drive was wiped 4 times last semester, effectively forcing me to re-do piggyback projects for a CAD class several times. Good luck getting your email to work at home, as well. It's a 50/50 whether it will. The book store was also another issue. I noticed in the 2 semesters I spent here, the gentleman running the book store could not seem to have books available for many courses, including in-house materials. It was a common complaint for many students. It took me 3 weeks to get my drafting booklet (Made by our professor), due to shortages. In my mind, I can't excuse a shortage of publications that were exclusively put together for a course in-house. The "I love me" wall in his office with certificates for money-saving efforts was a given that this guy was trying a little too hard with the budget, effectively hindering student learning on campus. Lastly, the campus offices are organized and friendly, with excellent student advisers and financial aid personnel. Despite incorrectly charging me for a course, I have had good experiences with the staff, and they are very prompt in addressing issues you may have.
