Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
I am currently in Therapeutic Recreation. The faculty were very nice and were willing to support me with my education. In first year, I thought the classes were great, because of the small amount of people in them and the fact that you could get to know classmates and profs on a more personal/equal level… instead of them treating you like a number and being condescending. Unfortunately, what they don't tell you in more detail is how terrible and difficult the co-op situation is for Rec students. Co-op is the reason why I have made my decision to leave Waterloo …for good, and transfer to an Ontario College…a school that will actually help me succeed in obtaining practical experience and a stable job/career. I don't regret the first few years I spent at uWaterloo, because I made some pretty great friends from different faculties and even my hometown…but that still won't deter me from my decision to leave.
