The previous review of MOL program is overly harsh. There were a couple of professors that were subpar but there were also a few really good ones also. I understand the comment about many of the instructors being graduates of Woodbury's MOL program themselves. When I was going through program this was a concern that the school was aware of and I see that most professors now teaching program have doctorate degrees from other schools. When I completed program it was with the five week class schedule and finished in a year. Classes have now been extended to seven weeks which is probably for the best as five weeks is very fast to move through a course and honestly I would have loved to have a few more class sections in each course. One does have to understand that this type of program is largely about self reflection and classes are designed to work in teams with classmates. This is not simply about "socializing", in classes where it is done well it is a chance to actively apply concepts that you are studying in program such as utilizing strengths of others and collaborating in teams. Do not expect a lot of lectures. This is simply not that type of program. Again it is about growing as a person and there is a lot of writing as would be expected in a graduate course. Personally, I got a lot out of it and really feel I grew as a person/leader as a result of program. The cohort system was very nice and made it easy to stick with program to the end. Two of the professors which all of my cohort classmates agreed were poor instructors are no longer teaching for program. The professor who pushed students the most is still teaching and was active in pushing the program to be better. I also see that they are now interviewing applicants so their selectivity may have improved. It did not seem as though it was that hard to get into when I was in program and one professor did mention that there were a couple of students in the previous year that did not seem up to graduate work. The members of my cohort were very ambitious students and were successful in their careers. The program has changed and I can not really speak from experience on whether those changes have had the effect intended. They do offer the chance to sit in on a class now before applying and I highly recommend doing so.
