I reviewed the other Iona reviews on this board, and sadly, I have to write that I agree with their comments. Attending Iona has been a BIG disappointment. I wish I asked more detail questioned, spent days on campus, met with Chairs of Departments, asked to see reports, job-success data, Internship opportunities, and I wish I spent a few days/nights in the dorm to get the real feel for campus life at Iona.

Iona's Management cares more about building dorms and buying up property, and MONEY.

Many of Iona's internal departments are falling apart - no-one cares. There are nice people, but for example, when I went to get help at the tutoring department, there was no Receptionist to greet me. The center is haphazardly managed, and no-one really cares - and that's where students go for help with their coursework.

Iona's on-campus atmosphere is very cold. There isn't a feel of a close-knit community. The social life at Iona is zip and none.

Iona does offer community service and outreach opportunities, but all colleges offer community service.

If you wanted to walk to the train station to get a train to New York City, the surrounding area isn't that safe.

I took out a loan to attend Iona for my Freshman year, and now I have to pay that back. It cost my family and me close to $50,000 for my first year at Iona. I did receive some scholarship money, etc, but attending Iona wasn't worth $50,000. Iona also adds on extra fees for everything.

I'm leaving Iona at the end of this semester. I will be attending a college with a much higher ranking. If I'm going to spend money, I want to receive a quality education, and I'm not getting that at Iona.

Another example, many of my core courses are over-crowded. The Professors are Adjuncts - and are not always available to help you after class -because they teach at other colleges.

Iona is about MONEY. If I'm paying, I want a Big return on my investment - this is my Education, and Iona is not worth the tuition they charge you.

Good luck, but I'm leaving - to attend a college - with a college life, and a college with strong corporate partnerships.
