Major: Music - Performance (This Major's Salary over time)
Back in 1979/80 when I was attending GIT, the school was still very new and the instructors were VERY passionate about teaching us. (Total enrollment for the semester was ~100 students) Pat Hicks (the founder of the school) was on-hand every day and know all of us by name…a real family atmosphere. Once I graduated and went back home, I instantly became the "go-to" teacher for guitar in my area. I had SO MANY students that I had a waiting list. This notoriety led to many gigs (Pit-band, formal occasions, etc.) After teaching GTR for 16 years, I decided to "retire" from teaching and focus on writing, recording, gigging)…here today at age 57, I still play, write and record my own music. GIT was the best investment I ever gave myself.
