Major: Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc (This Major's Salary over time)
For graduate education, consider a university that supports faculty research. Unfortunately, SCAD does not. they focus on the classroom, and thus the profs are strong own skill sets, but weak on the academic side. Graduate school should not be a longer more intense tech school, and unfortunately SCAD is more of a tech school than an academic institution. Lovely facilities, horrible sweaty southern town, and helpful instructors. Very little real academic work is done here. Lots of very interesting portfolio work is done here. But for 40k a year, I expect my profs to be doing research in their field, and publishing in their field. Not one of the graphic design profs has the time, or the university support to do this.
