There is a real sense of community at Wake that sets it apart from other institutions. The administration constantly stresses the importance of a living learning environment and their initiatives make the school feel like home. In my opinion the best things about Wake are the individual attention you get from professors, the student body that is very smart but also social, and the increasing diversity of the school community. The worst part about Wake is the lack of grade inflation. Contrary to popular belief, Wake does not deflate grades but when compared to other universities it does feel like that sometimes. Its not just that our average gpa is slightly lower than comparable institutions but the level of work it takes to obtain a good gpa is significantly higher than at other schools. Hopefully, that work pays off and the Wake Forest reputation helps students get jobs/get into graduate programs.
