I am and out-of-state student and graduated May 2016 as an Honors Scholar. I highly recommend the Honors Program to all students. It makes your education much more satisfying and is not difficult. I also took advantage of the opportunity to study abroad in England, which was the highlight of my undergraduate studies. If you can study abroad, do it!! I completed several internships in Chicago and encourage students to pursue professional experiences via internships. In today's world, it's really a must! Also, it's easy to get involved on campus and join theater or other clubs…or start a club of your own! I'm going on to graduate school and feel prepared to take that next step. I'm going to miss the downtown area of Elmhurst. It's hard to describe how wonderful downtown Elmhurst is, all within easy walking distance. The Metra station is very close to campus, as well. It's hard to put a price tag on the convenience. I highly recommend students interested in a liberal arts education to take a serious look at Elmhurst. It's an excellent school set in a lovely suburb…and only a short train ride to the big city. It's really a gem and I can't recommend it more highly.
