I graduated from UPS in June. I had mixed feelings about this school 100%. Sometimes I found myself proud to go here and sometimes I find myself mumbling when someone asks me what university I attend. I see some negative comments on here and some were posted today even. I would like to clear some stuff up as a recent graduate.

I toured UPS my junior year and fell in love. The trees were nice, the campus was beautiful and the staff were nothing but pleasant. I considered other liberal arts schools in the PNW but ended up choosing this one because it was closer to home (Spokane). My parents had warned me about attending a school like this and I later found out what they were nagging about but trying to prove my parents wrong, I road through the four years at Puget sound regardless of feelings about the school.

To clear the air … The school ITSELF is nice. The buildings are beautiful the location is interesting. The actual campus was what I liked, not the people on campus. The programs were average in terms of quality. The academics were no different then any other school so Puget sound didn't have much individuality on what they teach and how they go about their teaching methods. The school didn't have a "unique way" there was no hands on and I was okay with this because I was always a "textbook and quiz" type of person.

The social life was private. This isn't a party school and you will spend most Friday nights in a community room or studying. I was okay with this but some of my peers weren't. You have to live on campus for two years meaning you go by campus rules and regulations for two years.

The students were okay at times. This school has a special group of people it attracts. Without completely dumping my peers, I spent most of my four years spending time with off campus friends. I also had friends at Pacific Lutheran that I would frequently visit. This school is filled with "preppy" students. I grew up in a rural area so it was a culture shock to see students spend so much money on random things.
