I think UMKC is a great school for general education and preparing you for graduate school. I am a Chemistry, so most of my classes are science-related. In terms of the difficulty of the classes and tests, it is NOT HARD AT ALL. The tests here not that much harder than the tests in high school. However, the classes here (especially science) are fast pace. So if you fall behind, it will be very hard for you to succeed. The trick to getting A's at UMKC is staying ahead of the class and being able to memorize quickly and efficiently. In terms of teaching, the teachers I had are approachable and have office hours. You can contact them easily and they respond fairly quickly. Overall, I have to say an undergraduate education is good here. But, personally, I wouldn't go here for graduate school. One more word of Advice, the police around campus are AGGRESSIVE. They are very picky and it is easy to get tickets around here. My advice to avoiding tickets are 1) Cave in and spend $150 each semester on a parking pass 2) Stop COMPLETELY at stop signs 3) Yield to walkers 4) Follow the speed limit.
