I chose to come to Clarkson to get a good education in a field that will be worth my time and effort some day (will pay off). Unfortunately, I struggle through every day here, and am often quite miserable.

The student body in PAINFULLY homogenous, the lack of diversity is laughable. Therefore, it is really hard to meet friends if you stray from the white, socially awkward, very studious, male student mold. As a female who has other interests than math and science, it is extremely hard to relate to much of the student body here. For these reasons, I would advise you to think twice before coming to Clarkson if your heart is not 100% set on going to a small tech school to become an engineer.

Also, the food is horrible, the town is boring, there is nothing to do during the week and not much different on the weekends. Clarkson boasts all of the opportunities and programs that it provides to its students, yet they are oddly hard to seek out or obtain once you get here. All in all, you really just become a product of the system and find yourself drowning in work and pressure just waiting for your four years to be over.

If I could go back in time, I would chose a very different school, and actually would enjoy my college experience.
