Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
I was originally excited to be getting my film BA here at a prestigious school. But the one thing I learned was unless your taking the university's more publicised majors like business and nursing. Professors are generally nice, but once you need help in your own personal projects or need advice on a future job/career, most of them suddenly don't have time for you. They definitely are more interested in their own pursuits and even announce in class when their personal feats are getting compensated. Another problem for me was the career services center never really helped me find a internship or a job while I was in school. They gave advice like look up these websites and gave me mock interviews. But mostly no one prepared me for the real world and how competitive the market is. Mostly if your an outsider to the community of upper-class wealthy kids, then you might feel a bit inferior. I remember once in class my professor told us to get a textbook in the newest edition available and by the time everyone would order the book it would arrive to late for the first test. So he assumed all of us had I-Pad's to read it and when I raised my hand and admitted that I didn't own an expensive I-Pad, he was generally surprised. Socially it isn't much different, unless you automatically sign up for a fraternity or sorority. Most kids in class all just get their work done and go home, so if you want to attend TCU you might have to look outside of the campus for friends and things to do with others.
