Gosh, where should I start… This university is an absolute waste of your money and time…glad I was able to transfer somewhere else. Absolutely horrible place. Not much resources. Not safe. Every year there are a couple of armed robberies on or around the campus… Good luck walking alone after the sunset on campus… The dorms except the newly built ones were horrible, pest invested, old, stinky, not maintained well. The administration, despite their bumped up salaries, were horrible before 2016. I heard that they had gotten themselves huge raises while the teaching faculty got almost no raise, despite teaching like half a dozen courses a semester, overloaded… So many courses were being taught by adjuncts, most of whom did not care much. Some courses did not have a TA, so the instructor could not assign any meaningful homework because did not have time to grade.

THE UNIVERSITY'S PRESIDENT COMMITTED SUICIDE in 2016 REPORTEDLY DUE TO STRESS!!!!

There is nothing to do in the small town, no life. The campus is dead quiet at the weekends and in the summer. But still, they forcd you to live on campus the first two years.
Some faculty could hardly speak English, even some department chairs… and chairs with bad English skills seemed to hire faculty with bad English skills. Racist nepotism was widespread. Why attend here while you could attend UTD, UTA, UNT, UT Tyler, nearby. Transfer if you can, better late then never. I had friends who graduated from here and had such a hard time finding a decent job; aftee seeing all this I decided to transfer to another school. Glad I did!
