DO NOT ATTEND THIS PROGRAM. The admissions committee basically accept the rejects from other accelerated nursing programs. Joanna Awadzi accepts all of the students, and she is the most incompetent person designated to do it. Their first cohort graduated in August 2015 and they only had 17/35 students complete it. The school is on the verge of losing their accreditation due to this matter and will lose it exceptionally if only two of the recent graduates fail the NLEX exam. Their weekend program only had a passing rate of 78%, which is absolutely repugnant and gruesome for any nursing school (which is what they were prevalent for.) I would highly recommend against attending this dysfunctional and unreasonable degree program. Gwynedd Mercy has a ten year contract and partnership with an enrollment company called Synergis, they handle all of the enrollment for the graduate school and the ABSN program at Gwynedd Mercy. They handle the admissions front for Gwynedd and do not want outsiders to know they exist (since they are attempting a run for your money.) This unethical company ONLY cares about their numbers and goals and reaching them for each cohort, because with each lead/applicant that commits to the program, they get half of the tuition. The ABSN program costs an estimated total of $54,000 and Synergis gets $27,000 of that (how does that make you feel now?), therefore, your tuition money is not even going entirely to your education but another dubious organization based half way across the country in Arizona. Before their August 2016 cohort was to begin, they opened a brand new campus in Bensalem. The school had about eighty students starting the program, and they had to split them up between the two campuses (Philadelphia and Bensalem) and no one decided to inform the students of this major dilemma until about one week before they had to start the nursing school. Joanna Awadzi selected forty five of them and forced them to attend Bensalem, even when students were moving from out of state to attend it and had apartments/housing based in Philadelphia. They had to attend this campus, even though it was completely out of the way for them. I am surprised they did not lose the entire cohort before it started at the end of August. HOW IS THIS FAIR AND JUSTLY FOR ANY NURSING STUDENT THAT IS COMMITTING SIXTEEN MONTHS OF THEIR LIVES AND PAYING OVER $60,000 FOR THIS PROCEDURE?! I understand that it all does come down to business, because schools are exactly that regardless of anything and are trying to thrive in the competition of thousands of others across the nation. Yet, this is precisely just a money-hungry scam in order to make their students in this program $60,000 poorer and themselves richer at the end of it, whether your complete it or not. Because you will not be receiving one penny back once you start it. On another note, the nursing admissions counselors will tell you anything on the phone in order to convince you to apply and will take anyone with a pulse. I promise that you will be much better off by not attending this program, PLEASE search elsewhere for other accelerated nursing degrees/schools that will treat you morally and graciously because I know that anyone deserves that much better than Gwynedd's ABSN program.
