The FDU Computer Science curriculum in the mid to late 80's prepared me for learning all of the following essential programming languages that I have encountered in my career: Assembly, C, C++, Perl, Java, Python, etc., as well as learning Big Data languages and frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, and HBase, to name a few.

The FDU Computer Science department was and is a very good school, with a great program and wonderful professors from Berkley, MIT, NYU, NJIT and other top schools. Class sizes are small, professors are accessible, unlike the experience of some of my peers at other schools.

My advice is for FDU as a whole, not FDU-CS. FDU, you need to support your alumni and current students by lifting the ranking and reputation of the overall university through appropriate marketing to get the message out that FDU produces successful alumni who are hard-working and knowledgeable. Imagine, for a moment, the potential of this largest of private NJ universities if the university itself promoted the great outcomes and professional achievements of its students and alumni properly. Please, learn from other universities that rank higher and set some reach goals to improve FDU's ranking.
