Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
I majored in Comedy Writing & Performance. A lovely time while i was there and moments I'm not sure are happening anywhere else in the world. Very special. However, literally no one told me how important having an internship would be. I graduated in December and all major internships require you to be currently enrolled in school. I am screwed. No one hires from outside of their company. I don't know what I am going to do. I HAPPENED to have sought out and done two internships on my own fruition, but these were for companies I do not want to work for. However, having some level of work experience has been instrumental.Overall I cannot in anyway compete with others going for the jobs I want and need to have in order to advance my career in television. I feel completely cheated. That said, If you are an LGBTQ+ student currently living in an environment or town that does not support you, Columbia is a great place for you. Even if just to start off and then transfer elsewhere to finish your degree.
