Professors are largely the teach, not constantly scrambling for publication. There are always a few turkeys, but most of my teachers have been willing to go out of their way to help students succeed. Classes are challenging, but the amount of work is reasonable for college level courses. There is a lot of support for first- generation college students as well as non-traditional students. They have an active remedial program for those who are not fully prepared. I highly recommend Perimeter College as a place to start before moving to a four- year university.
