Farmingdale state for 4 years was a good experience overall. It is a commuter school with a mix of recent hs grads and older adults going back to school. The career fair is not very good. However almost all the tenured professors have connections with the largest companies on Long Island. If you do well in thier class the professor can help you get an internship at a top company that will lead to a good job after graduation. The liberal arts classes I found very easy. Some stem classes are more,challenging. I remember freshman year, half the class withdrew out of an engineering class. It happened again when I was a sophmore in another engineering class. Some juniors switch majors because the classes became too hard.
