I'm sure not many people look at "studentsreview.com" before making decisions about which college to attend, but the more websites I can warn people away from this school on, the better. Let me just say, as of 2019, all of those old negative reviews are still PERFECTLY ACCURATE.

**I have to preface this with one thing: DSU and Delaware have some 'free ride scholarships,' like if you graduate from a Delaware high school. If you can go here, or UD, for free, it's probably a much greater value than if you're like me and are paying with a mix of grants and loans. Additionally, DON'T live on campus and use a meal plan, or use the bookstore. These are all ways DSU rips off already very poor students. If your choice is between DSU for free and some other school for $$$, I would probably still go to DSU.**

I am saying this with urgency: If you value a high-quality education which will prepare you for your future career, DO NOT attend DSU. This school is, unfortunately, terrible. Most things simply seem like a false projection, whereas the truth underneath is that most professors here and admin are putting up a front (as one other user wisely worded on this site, it's a degree mill).

One of the most alarming issues is that the administration will treat your student account, records/registration etc., like a toy. Nothing is taken seriously there, please prepare to have receipts for literally everything they do and prepare to be quite scared of expensive mistakes they are poised to make. I have had my financial aid and every other aspect of registration flip-flop as if a computer virus is toggling switches on and off. If you have questions as to dates, timelines etc, for crucial things such as financial aid, prepare to get a shrug and never get straight answers on anything. They have no phone or e-mail to contact them with either, which seems pretty purposeful.

There are many critical issues at DSU I may or may not get into, but one of the second most pressing ones aside from administration is the severe lack of academic rigor. Put simply, you will graduate feeling completely unprepared for your career or your field. Some of the profs mean well, some of them are just there for a steady paycheck, regardless—none of your courses will be very far past high school level rigor. Prepare to get ready for your career on your own time. Much like a degree mill, the money is for the piece of paper, not what you learn. I have had several classes now where we'll come in and watch youtube videos. That's it. (I have to shout out the good profs though that worked hard, yes they existed, but in lesser numbers).

It breaks my heart to have to warn people away from a more affordable state school that is probably trying its best, but unfortunately, I feel like I have to. Of course, there are AMAZING profs that will break their back to help you out, but for every great professor, there are 3 who just don't wanna do their jobs. Overall, the disorganization and lack of rigor in the academics make me feel like I am just throwing my money away.
