Lake Erie is full of underhanded politics and clear favorites. The athletic department have a stranglehold on all the student athletes and do not promote individuality. There is also and unfair scholarships given out to students who are not eligible, don't show up on time, or under preform. (mostly males) My scholarship was not put in correctly and still has not been fixed, not to mention as one of the best athletes on campus im grossly underpaid. Of the two people who went to Nationals I was one, also made academic all American and i still don't get as much as the people who can't compete because of GPA.

The housing is a sorry excuse for dorms, the buildings are falling apart and full of black mold. It is crazy how long student Life Will ignore these issues until you bring in an outside complainer that threatens to ruin the facade they so dearly try and show off.

Campus life is boring, there is not much to do around Painesville or Mentor either. There has been at least 3 break Ins at the Founders apartments which is affiliated with the school. People have had TV's, xboxs, money and other valuables stolen. Security around campus is a joke and they haven't stopped peoples apartments and cars from being vandalized or broken into.

It's a very depressing place to be, almost all of the students you talk to will only speak about how awful the place is run. We have a 60% acceptance rate because we can't afford to reject anyone. After first semester is over so many people transfer. In my three years here it's crazy to me how many good friends I've lost because they couldn't stand the school and had to transfer.
