While Moody has excellent reputation with pastors, and some churches, it really is in bad shape. There is no dating going on for many people there. If you don't want to be with the opposite sex than this is the school for you. Also, Moody pretends to be "involved" in the community but totally ignores the nightclub environment and homeless and countless other groups rationalizing it off with weak PCM's that do the students more good than the people you minister too. The theology at MBI is only fair, but most churches don't notice because they are in FAR WORSE SHAPE. If you are older adult don't set foot on MBI—they treat you like you are still 18. Personally I recommend that NO Christians attend this institute until it seriously changes especially in how it treats people outside of class. Chapels back from 93-97 suck, many students going are not walking with God, and the leaders simply blow off that issue as if it doesn't exist. I mean, I can't believe MR. MBI PRESIDENT was a former pastor and cannot see the crushing evils at MBI. The school is no longer the missionary school it once was, and the faculty complains its student quality: its not student quality only—its the churches, faculty, and administrations fault as well. The entire Church on earth is in pretty sick shape if you ask me. The only positive thing I can say about MBI is that it preaches a true gospel…unfortunately MBI people usually don't LIVE the TRUE GOSPEL. Numbers of MBI students leave after the first semester. The faculty is fairly decent when I was there, but to be honest, not doing its job either. That's right, NOT DOING ITS JOB!!!! Why? Because its focused more on knowledge and acedemics and ignoring the social relationships Christian ministers need. Administration is even WORSE at MBI. No tuition is good and bad at MBI—the bad thing is the school is often obsessed with donations and wishes of donors. But do those donating know how BAD MOODY is??? NO. The good thing is you get tuition paid, but since you live on campus you still pay quite a bit more than if you roomed with several people offcampus. After I graduated Moody, the more I think of the situation I was in the more disappointed I am with its administration and faculty, though I do thank the faculty for giving me the tools I need to study the Bible…and a few things of value.
