It has been 20 years since I graduated and I now have college-aged children of my own.

DON'T go to BYU and DON'T send your children there!

One of the manifold purposes of a college education is to help young people make the transition to adulthood and adult decision-making. BYU, by design, thwarts the ability of young people to progress as decision-makers because so often the university does the thinking for its students. Want to oppose the war in Iraq..not at BYU. Artistic freedom, academic freedom…not at BYU.

Additionally, BYU has the pretense of diversity but there is defeinitely a "party line" in operation and it applies to all regardless of creed, color or sexual tendency. Don't dare not cross the line and think for yourself or you'll be asked to conform or leave.

Is this the kind of atmosphere that you would want to be in as you spread your wings and learn to make it as an adult.

Just say no to BYU…you can thank me later.
