Major: Unknown (This Major's Salary over time)
I worked at Capella as a counselor - which to me meant helping others within their best interest. However, we were coached and trained to retain students with the ultimate goal of receiving their tuition money. Capella boasts about the million of dollars that it receives per quarter along with the growing population. The atmosphere at Capella was filled with greed and the work environment within my department was not only draining but hostile. I absolutely would never work at Capella again (being rated as 'best employment' is laughable - which will not last if things do not change) as it goes against all of my values and morals. More than that, I would never attain my degree from an institution that's main agenda is to receive your money - which usually tends to be government student loans. As one other stated, it is true that anybody can get into Capella. It brings the value of a masters and PhD degree down when enough students are pushed through the educational system as deserving of something so prestigious. The positive - Capella does employ many positive, truly good people. However, I did not see these people work within higher management.
