Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
I attended WMU as part of my Nursing program. WMU had a poor reputation when I was there in 1980. The school rooms were filthy. Most of the "teachers" I had were poor. Even then, the school was known for not guiding it's students properly so they would graduate in 4 years. It is very possible that this is intentional. Think of the hundreds of thousands of dollars gained from adding a year to so many! Well, now it has happened to our daughter at WMU. She is an ED major who was just informed that she has 18 more months to go for a four year degree making it a 5 1/2 year degree. "Oh, we forgot to tell you about this pre req and that oral exam, and didn't we mention the required study abroad for your minor?" Oops. $20,000 more dollars and another year of not making a living.Yes, young people! It is true. WMU really does this. Our daughter has the "MAPS" that the "advisors" did for her. My advice is…go to a better school!! The maps the advisors make out for you are not reliable. You cannot trust them!
