Those who do not like the academics here are the students who do not put in the time and effort to get the grades they think they deserve.  If you do a little bit of studying every night you should do great here and if you get a teacher you do not like just drop the course they give you plenty of time.(Half of the semester)

There are defiantly a lot of drugs here on campus but overall everyone is pretty relaxed.  It is a great campus to get to meet new people if you are a freshman but I would not suggest transferring here otherwise because it is practically impossible to meet new people because they are all so cliquey.

On the weekends a lot of students go home but there are still a lot on campus.  The only thing is that most of those students stay in there dorms because the school practically provides no events for the students to get out and socialize.

If you want to join a sports team expect to wake up every morning at 5,6, or 7 to go to practice for both semesters and be willing to come back to the school during vacation time.

If you decide on coming to New Paltz I think you would really enjoy it because though it has some bad traits, it is a fun liberal arts crazy campus.  There are always protests and sex meetings going on all of the time.
