SUNY Plattsburgh is an overall nice school. I transferred from a large school (over 30k students) to this small liberal arts school and found it a very nice change.however, i felt totally unprepared and that my (out-of-state) tuition was completely wasted. i majored in Spanish, wanting to teach in secondary school. however, though i was told that i would be accepted into the 5-year ba/mst program for my good grades when i applied to the college, i was told that i had too many credits when i applied to the program.TOO MANY CREDITS, even though i was technically a sophomore. whatever. so i've always had a sour taste in my mouth for the school after that incident. oh, and if for some ungodly reason you decide to major in a language, don't. after your 200-level classes, they'll stop teaching you anything to do with language and just start teaching history. which is fine for 1 or 2 classes total, but i basically ended up paying thousands of dollars a semester just to look up how to say something on google because they stop teaching you how to speak.
