Physics and math are well known here, and for a good reason. I've learned a lot since I had to pass the hard science classes, but it seems like the professors just have too many students sometimes. Undergrad research isn't really an option like it is with biology students.

Socially, the school is pretty damn bad. If you're a guy, good luck finding a girlfriend. All the good ones are commuters who almost always have boyfriends. Girls have it a little better, but yeah stony brook isn't very pretty. Hookups are available at the weekday parties, but good luck finding stuff to do on the weekends besides study.
