Syracuse is what you make it, and what you get out of it is what you put into it. Before I got here, I had very high expectations that this school did not meet once I moved in. The academics are lacking. Some of the professors don't put much effort into educating students and don't seem to care about students. TAs are more important, and the people you'll be more in contact with. Classes seem to be either very challenging or completely boring. The thing that keeps me from transferring is the extracurriculars. Students have plenty of organizations they can join and activities they can participate in from having their own radio show to ballroom dancing. Once you find your niche on campus, you'll meet people you'll love. There are plenty of snobby, conceited people on this campus but they're easily ignored. Partying is big here, so is school spirit. Most of the city outside of campus is…shabby to say the least. Most of the excitement in Syracuse is found on campus. Overall, the academics aren't worth the cost of coming here, but the opportunities you'll have here are.
