This school has a party "culture", not a scene, but a culture. Syracuse is made for the partiers. If you are not into it, or don't want to be into it, or don't do it often, this isn't the school for you. I am currently in my first semester and am already sending applications to transfer. You will feel very isolated if you do not drink, smoke, or party. That is what this school is about, which is sad because underneath it all, the academics are great. sometimes in smaller classes run by TA's you will have a difficult time because they are all foreign with heavy accents. the school's online system for accessing grades and stuff is terrible and not easy to access. the diversity is really white and asian. there are the pockets of minorities but you must search high and low for them. im really sad this school didnt work out for me but i cannot wait to get out of here. i am tired of being surrounded by this party culture.
