I liked Case, it has has provided me with a solid education. This is a good school, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. I think a lot of the negativity associated comes from the nature of being in high to middle tier school, which would naturally contain a lot of complainers from those who did not make it into the ivy league. For example, look at the happiness levels at Brown and OSU, they are very high, while middle tier schools, while still execellent, like Case, U Rochester, or JHU, tend to be biased towards negative reviews. Do not let this influence your decision. Case is a great school, great professors who really care, and there IS stuff to do around campus. You will be missing your years at case, trust me.
