| I
had some good teachers. business teachers were the worst. my
psychology teachers were passionate, and very smart! ...but overworked.
the campus is stratified. you can tell which professions
make the most money based on the quality of respective
buildings (law is nice, art building is a dungeon).
there are a surplus of annoying self absorbed arabic students.
the food is overpriced and typically rotton, so going off
to a restaurant is usually smarter. the teachers... some dont
speak english well. some cant answer your questions, they rely
completely on the book. one accounting teacher was quite great,
while another ignored the entire class asking him to write
problems on the board instead of reading the book to
us verbatim leaving us all to fail the class without
a curve or another teacher from the accounting dept to
help us. tenure is evil. one teacher made a test
for the wrong chapters, so we either had to accept
our failing scores or study for the 12 chapter test
a second time. i personally was screwed out of almost
$3000 because my advisor misinformed me about a financial aid
situation. the university refused to take responsibility and continued
to bill me for THEIR faculties mistake. i am
still paying this loan. parking is horrendous. you either pay
over $200 a semester for a parking garage that you
can never park in, or risk the bums by parking
off campus. its beautiful when warm, nice to walk the
city, shop the farmers markets, etc... but in the winter
its miserable, as is the rest of Cleveland. The University
continually ups their tuition, but spends money on menial issues
like stupid campus art, misleading advertisements (Engage this you jerks),
and petitioning to have the name of the school changed
from CSU to The University of Cleveland... really? you are
going to spend millions to change the name on your
really shitty buildings? how about you FIX THE BUILDINGS.
i hated my experience at this school. i abandoned my
graduate program there because a degree from CSU does not
prepare you for the work force. career services are useless
there. the library is poor. teachers, with a few outstanding
exceptions, are completely retarded, and the student services employees are
only interested in squeezing money out of you. the whole
school is set up to trap you there as long
as possible. they have even been known to change grad
requirements on programs so that their students basically have to
start over. if you go there, write down everything every
faculty or staff member tells you, date it, get the
name of who told it to you, and have them
sign it. if you dont, they will treat you like
a prisoner if you happen to need help with something. seriously. its that bad.
