I
spent one year at Ohio State, and promptly transferred out.
To this university, you are no more than a
number, a single piece in this horrible system. Sure,
the sports are great, until you get stuck up in
the nosebleeds with other first, second, and third year students
and realize that there really isn't a true “student section”
like other major schools. The education here is
below-average, and definitely not worth the money as an in
or out of state student. I could have gotten
a similar education at my local community college for more
than half the price.
People here are closeminded, all from
Ohio, wear a baseball cap, and are interested in nothing
but drinking themselves into oblivion every weekend. You have
the honors students who are the exact opposite and never
come out of their rooms, but there doesn't seem to
be a good middle-ground in terms of social life.
Don't
expect to get any help from professors. Many of
the TAs don't speak very good english, and therefore, it
is very difficult to learn anything from them. The
lectures are massive, and classes really don't get much smaller
when you get into the upper levels.
When I looked
at college reviews, I concentrated too much on the good
aspects and not on the negative reviews. If you
have any kind of drive to learn from a top-notch
institution, do not attend OSU. They gave me a
scholarship to get me to go there, but in hindsight,
I would have dismissed it immediately. Don't go here!!
