Aa a rising sophomore, the best advice that I can give is to visit the campuses of colleges to which you are applying. I got in to many east coast schools, but found that I would not be able to learn in such a superficiallycompetitive atmosphere. Ohio Wesleyan's academics are rigorous and most of my friends are pretty involved in ECs and social and literary clubs. Retention is not as bad as someone posted. About 15% leave after the first year but mostly because they want to go to bigger schools than OWU and because they find the academics too challenging, especially in the sciences. Frats are here but not so prevalent. Last year about 25% of the student population was Greek and the administration is not in love with fraternities. A few lost their houses and the two that replaced them are alcohol-free fraternities of mostly honors students. The school's academics are excellent but Delaware is sometimes a little boring.
