The University of Akron is a very well established university that has not quite reached it's level of reputation that it probably deserves. Many people have referenced this school as the "Sleeping Giant" because we have the top law school program in the State of Ohio. We have half the number of students and more of our students are completing the Bar exam. Our business program is phenominal, with professors from Harvard, New York University, University of Michigan, Columbia, University of Chicago and other elite higher education schools. Many of the professors have direct experience in the fields they are in which suggests that they have experiences beyond the presumption of scholastic theory. Although The University of Akron is a Tier 4 university, they're attrition rate is very high for students interested in getting in the business program. This means that you may be able to get into the University easily, but not necessarily the specific college you apply for because they have increased expectations for their students. The campus is in an urban environment, meaning that it's very easy to get around from campus to campus and most trips from one side to the opposite don't take longer than a 15 minute walk. This has been more ideal for me since it makes it easier to schedule classes without the concern of getting from class to class in too short of a period of time.
