If you are a high school senior and got good grades, do not expect to come to the U of A and find efficiency, helpul people, or a safe environment. The school part of this University all depends on the teacher. The teachers can make or break the experience. However, even if all of the teachers are good, there is the annoying part about credits tranfering, registering, and extremely belittling process of "getting aquainted" with University of Arizona life. I have never ceased to be amazed at the fact that community college credit is accepted here above AP credit. I recieved a 4 on the AP English Lit test and still had to take a freshmen English course where my friends took English 101/102(easier than AP) in high school and do not have to take English here at all. Also, I received a 4 on AP World History and this was not accepted for credit even though this was one of the most difficult tests I have taken. I did however, get credit for a comunity college course called POS220 and I did next to nothing in this class the entire first semester of senior year. To make matters worse, here the feeling of frustration never ends. Getting an answer out of anyone about classes or credits is nearly impossible. I would rate my overall experience here as a D. I feel like I am wasting my money and could have gone to a community college for much less and got the same out of it. I wish I would have gone to a different college. Big mistake! This is the unhappiest I have ever been. Another warning, Tucson is grose and unsafe. There is nothing to do in the city itself and it just makes for an overall depressing time.
