I know for a fact at least one is from a real students because I'm a student and I know another students who did well and posted positive reviews. You could also LOOK AT THE ACADEMY OF ART ALUMNI LIST and notice who's working at prestigious design jobs such as at apple (another person I personally know, but I'm not sure that person posted here).

That, said, I'll admit the academy has an unusually high attrition rate. Those people probably would have done great at any institution. The Academy, in my experience, teaches to the top 10% of performers and completely neglects the needs of the weakest 30% of students.

This is to the response above. The weakest 30% of students will fail in any school. Those 30% probably woke up one day and said I want to be a designer, and have never designed or have drawn anything in their entire lives. It's not to say that some of those won't discover hidden talent, but the majority just won't make it. This is true whether it's the arts, law, business, etc. A lot of students will fail or drop out. Coming at it from faculty, there's only so much you can do for those students.
