I'll
try to be fair in discussing my experience here as
I am a student considering transferring from Bucknell junior year.
Reasons not to transfer:
- I really love the
faculty here especially the professors in the History and Foreign
Languages department. Every professor that I've had has been 100%
dedicated to making sure students get the experience our tuition
is worth.
- Facilities are great. The campus is well-kept
and the environment for studying is great. The library is
wonderful with so many resources. There are a lot of
places to do work.
- Plenty of things to do
apart from partying and such contrary to what some others
might say. While I don't mind partying once in a
while, I don't like doing it every weekend, which leads
into my reasons to transfer.
Reason(s) to transfer:
I've
never witnessed so much lack of general respect for one's
self and others. By this I mean most people I've
met here, but there are of course, exceptions to this.
Most people I have met do like just going out
every weekend and choose to do this over other activities
offered—then for some reason, coming to the conclusion, that there
isn't anything else better than partying on campus. False. I
also do not like the guys I've met here who
are not at all well-behaved and ridiculously (beyond humoring) vulgar
and inconsiderate. Maybe that's just me but I find a
lot of students' behavior degenerative and wasteful. And if they
don't know it, they don't care. If you want a
worldly student body, don't come here.
Otherwise, there are some
socially acceptable people here, which unfortunately seem to make up
the minority because it's hard to meet them in dodging
all of the annoying and obnoxious people.
