Everyone I hang out with at Clarion loves it here, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else, including myself.  People say that it's a “suitcase” callege, which is true, meaning that probably 65% of people go home every weekend.  But if you stay up here you will find something to do, and not just party.  There are movie nights that have movies that haven't came out to dvd yet, so if you missed in the theatres you can see it.  There's also lots of events with FREE FOOD (what's better).  Also, in my experience the resident life staff has done alot to make things fun.  I know me and my RA hang out almost daily including weekends, and get lots of people to hang out in my dormitory.

People who give a bad rap to Clarion either go home every weekend and don't give it a chance, are anti-social, or here for the wrong thing.  I would highly recommend Clarion if you are in the Education field, because we are top notch with great instructors, although we have high standards.  Pre-Med is also good, the coursework is on par with larger universities, and Clarion is relatively inexpensive.

Other people who don't like it here are generally Communication majors or Business majors that just blow off all classwork...there is an abundance of those at Clarion...

questionI am going to college for elementary education. I am thinking about going to either Slippery Rock or Clarion. How do the prgrams compare between campuses...do you know? and how is the town of Clarion? Is there stuff to actually do in the town, not just at the campus?

responseI hear Clarion has a really good Education program. There are a few things to do around here you just have to look.
