After one semester at Lehigh, I realized that great amount of good that the school had to offer were unfortunately outweighed by the negatives that the student body brings. I am transferring but am still trying to provide a neutral and helpful review.

In my experience, the student body is a majority of upper-class northeasterners, but that should be expected with a school of this caliber and tuition. This student body tends to be fine for incoming students of this demographic, but as someone from the West Coast, I found myself a distant outcast. There is undoubtedly partying every night of the week, but there are also diligent students who spend their Friday nights at the library (you will find both types everywhere). The fraternity and sorority life dominates, and I found it to be somewhat like high school how people would judge and rank others based on their affiliations. Quite frankly, for me it was the seemingly lack of maturity of the student body that influenced my decision to transfer.

On that note, I have to say the administration is terrific. In my short time at the school, I had a number of professors I could call on for help even if it did not pertain to school. I will miss most of my professors at Lehigh, and they were the reason that it was a difficult decision for me to leave.

Regarding the physical Lehigh environment, the campus is amazingly beautiful. Although you do spend some of the worst months there (Snow upon snow upon snow), it really makes you treasure the beginning of fall and end of spring semesters when the weather lightens the campus up. A lot of people complain about the fact that the campus is on such a steep hill, but it only helps you stay in shape. Honestly, if you miss working out for a while, no worries because walking to class gives you all the legwork you will ever need.

As a member of a sports team, I think the lack of student support further exemplifies the lack of open-mindedness in the student body. I was disappointed to find that national-recognized sports teams were afterthoughts in a student body that seemed to be interested in the professional sports (Why wouldn't that transfer to pride in their school's teams)

Overall a couple Pro's and Con's:

Pro's:

Great Staff

GREAT Job Network After Graduation

Great Campus Aesthetics

Con's

Homogeneous Student Body

Lack of School Spirit

Unsafe Surrounding City
