I agree with this comment and I have seen this happen countless times at SHU. My best advice would be to attend a Slippery Rock, Edinboro or IUP if you want to be a teacher…you will graduate in 4 years and the cost is WAY cheaper :) |

Seton Hill is an excellent school. However, if you are interested in getting teaching certification DO NOT COME HERE. The reason I say this is because SHU is a liberal arts school, and you must take a ridiculous amount of 'liberal arts' courses. Those liberal arts courses along with the education courses PLUS the courses you have to take in your area of certification are a lot to handle.You will not graduate in four years. Then, there are people at state colleges who do half the work you do and they end up with teaching jobs. I am strongly thinking about going to a state school. I love the professors and the seriousness of Seton Hill, but all of that work to teach? I think not. If you want to be a teacher and you want to finish in 4 years…think twice about coming here and look into the program.
