 I can't understand why the phrase "work hard play hard" is so frequently used in a positive context. Everyone knows it means students spend a lot of time completing assignments that require little real thinking (just apply this or apply that from class) and then going out and getting shitfaced all the time. Penn has been incredible so far. It provides several ultimate blends: city and campus, work hard and play hard, large social atmosphere with several small classes. People are open-minded and friendly, and not arrogant or over-intellectual. It is the perfect combination between a thriving academic and on-the-cutting-edge community and a fun social scene.
