I will do my best to give a fair and neutral review of villanova. I'll start off with the positive aspects of the school. The students are overwhelming friendly and nice, and the friends I have made are the kind you know you'll always keep in touch with after college. Many of the students go to church and are involved in community service activities. The business school is truly excellent, very professional. The professors are friendly, but not exactly intellectually stimulating. The campus is stunning.

Now on to the negative…

My biggest complaint is that everyone is the same. It's sooo frustrating going to King of Prussia and all your friends buy louie vitton purses with their parents credit cards and north face fleeces. I'm not poor, but I certainly can't afford to buy whatever designer nerchandise I please. I oftentimes feel excluded because I don't have two houses and I'm not Catholic. I'm also extremely liberal, haha. Even though I manage to make my own fun at nove, the social life is deplorable. Half of my friends have been arrested, and everyone I know has been written up for drinking. Also, the rules regarding guests and people going into rooms after 12 are strictly enforced. I feel like I have babysitters every night. Lastly, I picture Villanova as a huge bubble. Unlike the majority of the population, I need to go to Philly once or twice a week for my own sanity because otherwise I would believe that world is made up of young, rich, beautiful people with nice cars walking on pretty little tree-lined paths. Another complaint I have is that the academics are simply not challenging enough and the students care more about their socks matching their underwear than whats going on in the world. This is definately an overgeneralisation, but for the most part, villanovans are pretty sheltered to real issues.

Basically, nova is a good choice for those people that fit in. You guys know who you are. Otherwise prepare to feel left out at times. I went into it knowing I wasn't the "typical" nova student, and looking back I wish I had chosen another school because it's just not the right match for me. I'm planning to transfer in the fall not because I had a horrible experience, but because I might as well go to a better school for the money I'm paying. It actually was a very difficult choice to leave the friends I made, and the school I have grown to appreciate despite its flaws.
