Brown years are probably the most memorable years of my life to date. It is an amazing place, right on top of the hill, where you are hurrying around for a class, eating a quick lunch, enjoying the main green, walking on Thayer street, studying in Sci Li and the list goes on.

Being an engineering major, I was pretty much confined to Barus and Holly, the engineering building. The classes are small in size and the attention you get as a student is amazing. You really get to know your cohort of engineering students (at least by face) because they are the ones who are not basking in the main green on the weekends when the weather is really good. But the upside is that you get to know material which is substansive and getting difficult things done decently is always a good feeling.

Engineering majors should be prepared to have a different lifestyle. There is a lot of work and upper level classes become theoretical and difficult, so you have to put in some energy to learn the concepts well. However, there is plenty of time to hang out or just relax. People wanting to go to grad school for engineering/business should have absolutely no problem getting in the program of their choice if they did well in coursework. My acceptance rate was 100% for grad school (all schools that I applied to were top notch). It struck me at that point that Brown's reputation in general is superb as an undergrad school of top caliber.

The campus is just too nice. Main green and Wriston are very pretty. I liked all my dorms and eating halls a lot.

The people at Brown are also cool. There are a lot of fashionable male and female students here, especially in the humanities department. Generally outgoing, friendly and concerned about their own learning. It is all about personal development on this campus.

Off campus life is a bit dull but you dont need that really. Having a car is nice so that you can go to Boston and enjoy the drive as well.

I especially liked the sports facilities. Squash courts, athletics, gym, pool etc all close to the campus and dorms.

You could also run up or down the hill if you felt super fit.

Overall, an amazing experience that stays with you forever. Great people, great air, great academics.
