I think everyone should visit the schools they are seriously considering. When you're at the campus, do not just rely on the information given you by the orientation leaders, dorm resident assistants, or other tour guides or school workers - they work off a script. Stop someone walking on campus by themselves and ask them how they truly feel about the school, and what advice they'd give. Also ask them if they could do it over, whether they'd still come to the school and why or why not? Get more info than just yes/no, or they like/dislike the school. Then decide for yourself, based on their reasons, and whether their reasons are the same as whether you'd attend or not. Do not base your decision on your friends - you'll lose some and make more while you're at school so your friends you go with may not still be your friends when you graduate.
