DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL. I am a freshman this year and I would say I'm open-minded to most things and can usually make a bad situation into a good one. But let me tell you. This school is an absolute rip off. If you don't have a car, do not come to this school. I repeat, IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CAR, DO NOT COME HERE. CCU is surrounded by highway, therefore nothing is in walking distance and the shuttle system is terrible. The education is mediocre at best. I did average in high school and am getting a 4.0 because the work is so easy and you are treated like you are still in high school. The school's main goal is to rip you off pretty much. They will do whatever it takes to get your money and they have no sympathy for anyone whatsoever. The sports teams are jokes. Basketball and baseball are the only decent sports yet you can't get into the basketball games cause the gym is so small and baseball is just plain boring. The campus is dead on the weekends. You can walk all around the campus and see maybe about 5 people tops on your average Saturday afternoon…that is not normal. Everyone goes home because there is absolutely nothing to do here and the party scene is an absolute joke. if you like partying and then waking up in a jail cell, this is your school. So please, if you consider coming to Coastal Carolina, please don't. It will be the biggest mistake of your life and such a waste of money. I cannot wait to get the hell out of here.
