Growing up in California I always heard about how good Cal Poly was, but my education took me to the Nothwest "Portland OR and Moscow, ID." After being away from family, I decided to go to Cal Poly as a transfer student. I found it very difficult to transfer the couses I had already taken out of state. Cal Poly had me repeating many of the classes that I had taken. After spending two years of my life catching up to their "curriculum," I decided enough was enough and went back to my original plan to finish school at the University of Idaho. The students at Cal Poly are very friendly and open. Staff however become difficult to work with at times because they are over-worked. If you are going into Cal Poly as a freshman or transferring from another college in California, then you should be ok. But if you are coming in from another state, FORGET IT.
