The University of Tennessee - Chattanooga

UTC is a beautiful campus and Chattanooga is a really nice city. As far as the campus goes it is extremely safe. There are always a lot of cops on campus. Sometimes near the school you hear bad things. As for parking it is TERRIBLE! You pretty much have to pay 200+ to get a decent spot called reserved. Even then sometimes reserved are taken. Most people buy general..they are sold 3 to 1 per spot. You also better know how to park in all kinds of spots. Cops just LOVE to give tickets here for stupid reasons.

The faculty is generally really nice but some just don't give you the grade you deserve. I think some of the teachers here favor a little but it's hard to tell.

As for the classes, they really need to update that stuff! They make you take way too many pointless general education classes. Don't even get me started on major choices. For example, lets say you're an art major in graphic design but cannot draw. You have to take ALL the art classes. Then they judge you in front of the whole department on your work and how you speak to them. They only except a SMALL number of people.

UTC is a dry campus and there isn't a lot of parties that go on here. You basically have to be 21 or older to enjoy the night life. If you like a small city this is your place. Plus, the price is not worth it by all means. Go to UTK if you're going to pay their new prices. There also is really nothing to do besides eat, walk around, or drive 15 mins away to the mall area.

This school is also REALLY bad on financial aid. I know people with 3.8 GPA here and get nothing except a grant and the hope. UTC is starting to become popular and is nowhere near ready to handle that responsibility.

I'm planning on transfering to MTSU at the end of this year.
