If you are intelligent, in the top 10% of your high school class, or have decent SAT/ACT scores, DO NOT GO HERE! It may be cheap and close to home, and you may be guaranteed admission, but the atmosphere here sucks. You will do a disservice to yourself and all of your hard work if you settle for Texas State. I applied here because I thought I would at least be provided with an education similar to UT or A&M. My expectations weren't that high, but TSU STILL couldn't come even close to reaching them. Don't get me wrong, some of the departments are good. In fact they are probably better than UT because of a smaller student body. (sociology IS one of the better departments-the business department is getting to be as bad as UT). Most of my professors have been ok, and class sizes aren't that bad. But as far as being challenged by the courses or your fellow students…not gonna happen here. In addition, if you do choose TSU for some reason, be prepared to go greek. It seems to be a requirement. Remember that clique in high school made of the football team, cheerleaders, etc? the so-called "cool people" that are complete immature morons who do nothing but party? Go here, and they will all follow you to this crappy school and join every frat and sorority on campus, making them undesirable to those of us who value education and service organizations. The "greeks" will tell you every day in no uncertain terms that you suck if you aren't one of them. And diversity? forget that too. It's so bad I sometimes feel like a leper just because I'm not a bottle blond like nearly every other girl on this campus. I'm literally the only one that even has dark hair in at least three of my classes. It's ridiculous. If you must stay in TX, go ANYWHERE else. If you are already at the top of your game in high school (as I know you are if you have half a brain), go out of state because pickin's are REALLY slim in TX, especially at Texas State.

So you are complaining about a great social life? The Greek Orginazation is very strong at texas state yes, But you are complaing about how YOU dont fit in the university. Telling people to stay away because you obviously dont enjoy beeing social is retarded. The school has a great education and a huge diversity compaired to other colleges. ( You complain about diversity yet you wanted to go to A&M?? good luck with that) Not everyone Fits in at Universitys and Texas State has a great mix of people. Some who like to study and are there for the grades, some people who like to relax and enjoy the quiet side of life. And Of course tons of people who like to party. Dont you know this schools history???? Your fault You didnt research the University before you went here. The education is great and the standerds keep rising, Please before you attempt to bash the university you go to. Actually get some information rather then spiting shit out your ass because your feeling are hurt becasue you dont fit in.

WOW!!! seriously? how do you live with yourself? come on, I attend texas state and I love it here. you can't go to any university and get a "bad" education only you can do that. Your SAT score… wow I'm surprised you got accepted but since txst is trying to increase our student body for financial and recreational funds not to mention to move our sports up out of SLC and into the B12. heres a question for you; How do you hate the university that you attend? you dont fit in? try being social like a normal person and make a few friends instead of sitting in the back of the classroom wishing you were that blonde bombshell. and fyi i was 10% in HS, and the reason i chose TXST is bc it has the number 1 geography program in the nation. I only have to half of what students at baylor, UT, A&m, and TCU students and still receive a top notch education. how about this… you leave :) go to some community college bc your definitely still living in your HS drama.

Hmm looks like Texas State has not raised standards high enough yet to allow for proper spelling. Chill Out as well, it's just a review and that person's opinion.

I am going to TX state this coming fall. Let's just say I am NOT looking forward to it. I am already working on my applications for other schools. This was a back up school I knew I would get into. If you respect yourself go to UTSA or somewhere a little respectable.

Don't bash a schools social life because you don't fit in. Thats like telling people football is a shitty sport because you suck at it. Only 10% of the student body is Greek at TSU which means you couldn't get along with the other 90% who aren't. Unfortunately its not the school, its you. And UTSA? C'mon now
